BMW E46 M54 240mm Twin Disc Clutch Kit – 700 to 1,200 Nm

The PTB Racing 240mm Twin Disc Clutch Kit is engineered for high-performance BMW M54 applications, including compatible BMW E46 330i and 330Ci models.

This system combines a precision-machined steel single-mass flywheel with two torsion-damped clutch discs, a tangential spring-mounted intermediate plate and your choice of Standard or Performance pressure plate.

Six available configurations provide continuous torque capacities ranging from 700 Nm to 1,200 Nm.

Developed, manufactured and precision-balanced in Germany.

Organic / Organic – Street Comfort

Designed for performance street applications with an emphasis on smooth engagement and predictable clutch control.

Sinter / Organic – Street & Track

Combines organic friction characteristics with increased thermal resistance for higher-output street and occasional track applications.

Sinter / Sinter – Track & Competition

Designed for demanding high-torque applications where increased thermal durability and direct engagement are priorities.

All configurations use two torsion-damped clutch discs.

Torque Capacity

The stated ratings represent the intended continuous torque capacity of each complete clutch configuration.

Standard and Performance Pressure Plates

The Standard pressure plate supports continuous torque ratings from 700 to 1,000 Nm, depending on the friction material.

The Performance pressure plate features a CNC-machined steel friction insert rather than a conventional cast-iron insert and provides increased torque capacity for high-output applications.

Tangential Spring-Mounted Intermediate Plate

The intermediate plate is preassembled on the flywheel and supported by tangential springs.

These springs assist with controlled plate separation during disengagement.

Engine torque is transmitted through dedicated mechanical drive features rather than through the tangential springs.

Vehicle and Transmission Compatibility

Designed for compatible BMW M54 applications using the specified manual transmission input shaft configuration.

The system includes an M54 pilot bearing adapter.

Important: Verify the transmission input shaft spline count, input shaft diameter and pilot bearing arrangement before ordering. BMW E46 transmission configurations vary by model and production date.

This product must not be selected solely by engine code or vehicle model.

Single-Mass Flywheel Noise Notice

A performance single-mass flywheel may produce additional transmission gear rattle, idle noise and drivetrain vibration compared with an original dual-mass flywheel.

Actual noise levels depend on engine, transmission, idle speed and vehicle modifications.
