CNC Sport Dual-Mass Flywheel for Audi TT RS Engines with DQ500 – 8-Bolt, PTB Racing Upgrade Cover

The PTB Racing CNC Sport Dual-Mass Flywheel with Upgrade Cover was specifically developed for high-performance applications using Audi TT RS engines with the DQ500 DSG transmission. This version combines the 8-bolt flywheel with the PTB Racing Upgrade Cover and its significantly larger spline connection. The larger spline was developed for applications with increased drivetrain loads. The dedicated connection design also eliminates the critical positioning of mounting holes directly behind the spline area.

The flywheel itself is a completely new PTB Racing development manufactured from new components. It is not a modified or reworked dual-mass flywheel. Increased damping force, reduced weight and optimized mass distribution combine high-performance capability with effective torsional vibration damping and reduced transmission noise. The system is already in use in vehicles producing up to 1,420 hp.

CNC Sport Dual-Mass Flywheel for Audi TT RS with DQ500

The CNC Sport Dual-Mass Flywheel combines torsional vibration damping, drivability and increased continuous-load capability in a system developed specifically for high-performance DQ500 applications. Its increased damping force reduces the transfer of torsional vibrations from the engine into the transmission. This helps reduce drivetrain excitation and transmission noise compared with a rigid single-mass flywheel setup. Normal street driving remains possible while retaining the increased load capability required for high-performance street, track, drag racing and motorsport applications.

PTB Racing Upgrade Cover with Larger Spline Connection

This version uses the PTB Racing Upgrade Cover with a significantly larger spline connection. The larger spline provides a robust positive-locking interface for transmitting drivetrain loads. At the same time, the dedicated design eliminates the critical arrangement of mounting holes directly behind the spline area. The connection between the CNC Sport Dual-Mass Flywheel and Upgrade Cover is form-fitting, with torque transmitted through the spline connection. The drive adapter is additionally secured with a retaining pin.

Completely New PTB Racing Development

The PTB Racing CNC Sport Dual-Mass Flywheel is manufactured entirely from new components. No existing or used dual-mass flywheels are modified or reworked. A patent application has been filed for the PTB Racing dual-mass flywheel technology.

Standard or Upgrade Bolts with Precision Shoulder

Two bolt configurations are available:
OEM-Style Bolts – The standard version uses the intended conventional bolted connection.
PTB Racing Torque-Lock Bolts with Precision Shoulder – For highly loaded applications. The shoulder provides defined positioning within the mounting holes and prevents relative movement caused by clearance between the bolt and bore.

Diamond Friction Washer
A diamond friction washer is always included with the system.

Approx. 9 kg – Reduced Weight and Optimized Mass Distribution
The PTB Racing CNC Sport Dual-Mass Flywheel weighs approximately 9 kg / 19.8 lbs, making it lighter than the standard flywheel. A greater proportion of the rotating mass is positioned closer to the center of rotation, reducing the mass moment of inertia while retaining the damping characteristics of a dual-mass flywheel.
